THE BLACK GRANITE WALL

The names are many,

And the emotions run high

Tear stained eyes peering

From within,

To reach out and touch

This mighty Black Wall.

A feeling of helplessness

Overcomes us all.

Mothers and Fathers,

Sisters and Brothers

Wives and Lovers,

Children and others.

We stand in silence

And feel the pain,

For those who did not

Die in vain.

We gather our thoughts,

And see our reflections

Combined with the names

Of those we loved.

This Wall is awesome

It brings us together,

To ease the heartache

That overwhelms us all.

Never to be forgotten

By those left behind.

We will surely remember them

Till the end of time...
